i see i see a folk group?

If i had to choose a particular group that i belong to more than others i believe that it would be a regional folk group. Namely around the northern Virginia area. The folklore that i know, or think i know, comes mainly from my age group and perhaps more specific my high school.

The things that i can remember from the very top of my head are all of the complaints that were hurled at the weather forecasters on a daily basis. I quite vividly remember walking in to first period and hearing the chain of moans about the unexpected rain or the lack of snow that should have had a 75 % chance of falling and closing school but didn't. The idea formed that the weather forecaster was never correct and the best forecast you can expect is what you think will happen when you look outside. Second to that would have to be the myths of failed or amazing senior pranks. Many of them included their fair share of pyrotechnics but the one i remember the most is about a single senior who decided that he would set the school football field on fire with the numbers of his graduating year. Sadly he did not realize that gasoline spreads and managed to lite a good part of the field on fire before it was extinguished. Others include walls made of cinder blocks blocking the halls, cars parked inside the school, raw fish stashed above the ceiling boards that resulted in a mysterious oder, and strange decorations placed around the school.

A large majority of the folklore in my group are myths and a few stories of teachers who had lost a few marbles along the way. Not so much in the way of song or crafts.
