Family Groups

I guess the most influential folk group I relate to would be Southern Baptists. I'm not Southern Baptist, per se, but my dad's whole family is. When we have our yearly family reunion, almost everybody brings a home-cooked dish and nobody brings alcohol (because Southern Baptists don't drink ever). The kids always play with frisbees and the adults sit around and talk. For after dinner entertainment, cousin Macon takes a bottle of caffeine-free coke (because nobody touched it) and puts mentos in it. Before dinner, the family patriarch says a prayer, thanking God for bringing this family together from "all across Amurrica." And when I'm there, that's just the way we talk.
